She leaned over Louis, taking in her pale, clammy skin and noting the elevated heart rate. "I haven't even dosed her yet, and she's gone through a trance portal." She mused. Taking the girl's pulse, She lifted an eyelid, smiling when there was no trace of an iris. "She's completely submerged, I may have to re-visit the crow wing notes to see how the hormonal chemistry developed." Dropping the wrist, She allowed the lid to snap back in place as she hurried back to her cavern, slinging orders down various tunnels. Much needed to be done.
Louis sat in the room of mirrors and rubbed her forehead. She hated this part of the maze. Slowly standing up she turned around, looking at each reflection carefully. There had to be a gap, an exit. Walking up to a mirror she put her hands against it, fingertip to fingertip with the copy of herself. Sideways she slid, fingers searching for the edge. Suddenly she no longer faced herself, her fingers felt no resistance, and she stepped forward.
It wasn't dark, but neither could she see 2 feet in front of her. An opaque Mist surrounded her senses and her feet felt numb. "Hello? IS ANYONE HERE?" Louis was almost certain that the caterpillars were in this part of the maze or had stopped here recently. "ABBY?? DAMN IT ANSWER ME!!"
